54, passed on March 23rd at home surrounded
by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Laura (Larivee) Lafreniere.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Alfred L. and Margaret M. (Roy) Lafreniere; He had been employed as an electrician by Duff Electric Corp for many years. He would often volunteer his expertise and time to the Knights of Columbus and anyone else in need. Richard was an avid Patriots fan, and had a soft spot for his pets.
Besides his wife he is survived by four sisters, Senator Elizabeth Crowley, Central Falls, Mary Desjean and her husband Richard of Enfield, CT, Leona Lafreniere of Central Falls, and Linda Fontaine and her husband Russell of Pawtucket, three brothers, Robert Lafreniere of Pawtucket, Albert Lafreniere and his wife Joanne of Windsor, Vermont and Michael Lafreniere of Providence and many nieces and nephews. He was the beloved son in law of Leo and Diane (Lariviere) Larivee.
His funeral service will be held Monday, March 26th at 10am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5pm until 8pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of RI, 1085 North Main St. Providence RI 02903.
